Background and Experience
Angie Thames is the Founder and Managing Director of Thames Private Wealth Strategies &Partners. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional designation with over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Angie’s primary focus is enjoying quality time with clients, listening with intention, and fostering thoughtful dialogue about priorities and financial dreams. Through a refined and strategic planning process she assists clients with defining their goals and then develops personalized wealth strategies to assist them in achieving their dreams.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration focusing on finance from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC as well as her MBA through the Darla Moore School of Business. Prior to becoming a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors, Angie served Wells Fargo Advisors in a management capacity supervising the operations and ultimately the administration of over 100 financial advisors.
Away from the Office
Angie enjoys supporting her friends in education, having served on the Academy of Finance Board for Columbia High School as well as “Principal for a Day” on multiple occasions in Richland One School District. She was named Richland County School District One Business Partner of the Year for the 2018-2019 academic year. Angie is also passionate about the benefits of physical activity and fitness. She was Board Chair for Girls on the Run of Columbia, a transformational youth development program for girls in grades 3 through 8.
Away from the office, Angie can be found running through downtown with her friends and golden retriever in town as she trains for a destination marathon.
